THE CABINET FIT KIT • FREE GUIDE

Measure once. Choose storage that fits.

The useful size is the space left around your pipes, hinges and door opening. Record it before you buy an organizer.

1. Clear the cabinet and mark the obstacles

Take out loose items so you can see the cabinet floor. Identify the drainpipe, water lines, shutoff valves, door hinges and any centre support. Keep plumbing accessible. If you find a leak or damaged material, address it before adding storage.

2. Measure each usable section

Record clear width, usable depth and height below the lowest obstruction. Measure the left and right sides separately. The width of the vanity outside is not the width available inside.

Four measurements to keep
  1. Opening: the clear route through the door, including hinges.
  2. Footprint: the clear floor area available to the organizer.
  3. Height: the space beneath the sink or plumbing at that location.
  4. Movement: the route a drawer travels or loaded turntable rotates through.

3. Check the items, not just the organizer

Measure your tallest bottle, its pump and any broad refill containers. An organizer’s overall height does not reveal the clearance between its shelves. Check internal bin dimensions where available; ask the manufacturer if they are missing.

4. Try a paper footprint

Cut scrap paper or cardboard to the product’s assembled footprint. Place it in the intended position. Open and close the doors. Check whether the opening, hinge or centre support would prevent use. This is a size check, not proof of stability or load capacity.

For a turntable, allow the loaded contents to rotate without hitting a pipe. For a drawer, keep its complete travel path clear. Follow any additional installation clearance in the product instructions; do not assume a universal gap is enough.

5. Match the exact version

Compare assembled dimensions, not package size. Check the orientation diagram, model, colour variation, pack contents and installation method. Use one unit system throughout: 1 inch equals 2.54 centimetres.

A larger organizer is not automatically better. If one large unit blocks access, two smaller independent bins may be the more useful choice. Try containers you already own first.

03 / Buy or skip?

□ I know what belongs in this cabinet.
□ I tried a suitable container I already own.
□ I checked the assembled dimensions and exact variant.
□ I allowed room for the door, contents and moving parts.
□ I checked mounting instructions and any rental restrictions.
□ I checked current seller, delivery and return terms.
□ I can remove the organizer and reach the shutoff valves.

Decision and reason:

Next: choose a storage format

A narrow drawer system and a turntable solve different access problems. Compare three research-based organizer options, or plan your bathroom storage.
